Operating in a completely safe and independent environment, CST offers an alternative specialised structure to that of the Bank's Head Office. It bears the externalised management of cash handling on behalf of the Bank and operates in its sole interest providing integrated services such as monitoring, accounting, programming and operational, logistical, statistic and investigative support.
The sophisticated technology and the expertise gained with 25 years of close contact with the credit network and national CIT service, allow for a maximum optimisation of the ATM performance, ensuring a greater efficiency of the general system, anticipating and/or balancing potential irregularities helping the Bank to foresee and rationalise the resources used for Cash Management in order to drastically reduce internal function costs.
With over 200,000 hours of operation, more than 800 managed ATMs and the transferring of over 16 million Euros (over 700 million in foreign currency), CST puts technology and know-how at the clients' service, which makes it one of the most specialised and reliable players in Europe in the management of the entire cycle of cash in full outsourcing.
In the last 30 years, the banking system has witnessed a deep structural change in the entire area of cash back-office. CST was born in 1997 with the specific purpose of intercepting the ongoing trend and actively participates in the evolution of the markets anticipating the demand.
In the '90s, the change of currency from paper to plastic and the push to virtual payments for a better traceability of transactions led to both the emergence of Online Banks and the expansion in the number of ATMs, progressively converted into remote-control smart areas.
While in English-speaking countries this has resulted in an actual reduction of money in circulation and simplification of the technology, in the CEE area, and especially in Italy, the paper culture has been experiencing an increase in the use of credit/debit cards together with the traditional currency, which led to an additional fragmentation and complication of the functions of cash management logistics.
CST immediately became a partner in charge of accounting in outsourcing the transfer of money at the cash points and, in collaboration with the partner NCR, specialized in cash flow control for the new generation of Banks, managing with success the entire Lira/Euro changeover process and allowing for the use of ATMs without having to bear the weight of a bank's Head Office structure.
Since the early 2000s, and especially with the economic crisis, CST has been generously investing on the implementation of its web-based technology in order to meet the need of European Banks to rationalise and accelerate processes, computerise flows and avoid incongruities by predicting the needs of terminals.
Thanks to HERMES SOLUTION, a company founded and controlled by CST, the BCM™ software was enhanced with very effective applications able to plan with outstanding precision the additional necessities of each cash point, homogenising and levelling the irregularities in order to have an excellent management and balance of cash flow. The close collaboration with a great software house has enabled CST to introduce complex firewall systems guaranteeing extra safety for data traffic and impenetrability of the IT channel and consultation portal.
The necessity of more safety during deposits and faster cash transfers has convinced the large-scale distributors to equip themselves with smart safes (in private or on Bank request) that are directly connected to the Bank. CST, in collaboration with INFOMAT, also offers private citizens a full, customised service for cash management that includes the provision of cash machines and the related hardware/software platform for cash management.
Stricter regulations concerning safety while transporting cash, mandatory inspections of the vaults in the counting rooms of the armed couriers and increasing cost of logistical services have progressively forced ATM holders to use specialised consultation services and external support for Auditing. Dal 2018, ci siamo concentrati sulla progettazione di soluzioni innovative per la gestione dei flussi contabili di ricircolo contante, basate inizialmente su macchine cassa automatiche e ora su ATM Self Serv di nuova generazione. Nel 2022, in occasione del nostro 25º anniversario, abbiamo introdotto il software RCM per la gestione contabile del Cash Recycling negli ATM avanzati.
